Ferrous Ascorbate 100 mg

Ferrous ascorbate is a synthetic form of iron and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Ferrous ascorbate is an iron supplement used to treat or prevent low blood levels of iron (e.g. for anaemia or during pregnancy). Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) improves the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract.

L-Methylfolate 0.5 mg

L-methylfolate, is the active form of folate in the body. Folate is necessary for formation of numerous coenzymes in many metabolic systems. Folate is needed in the human body for production of red blood cells. L-methylfolate may be useful to prevent post pregnancy anaemia.

Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg

Deficiency of vitamin B12 causes macrocytic anaemia, neurologic dysfunction, and biochemical abnormalities related to the accumulation of the precursor moieties (hyperhomocysteinemia and methylmalonic acidemia). In turn, hyperhomocysteinemia has been linked to a higher risk of multiple adverse outcomes of pregnancy, including delivering an infant small for gestational age or with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), low birth weight (LBW), pregnancy-induced hypertension, neural tube defects, and preterm delivery.

Vitamin D 1000 IU

Vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy improves maternal vitamin D status and may reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia, low birth weight and preterm birth.

Fetal needs for vitamin D increase during the latter half of pregnancy, when bone growth and ossification are most prominent. Vitamin D travels to the foetus by passive transfer, and the foetus is entirely dependent on maternal stores.

The vitamin D level in breast milk also correlates with the maternal serum level, and a low vitamin D level in breast milk can exert a harmful effect on a new born.

Zinc 25 mg

Zinc, a mineral present in many foods, plays an essential role in the construction of baby's cells and DNA during pregnancy. It is needed for cell division and tissue growth, supporting normal development as your baby grows.

Zinc is one of the nutrients that provide some extra immune support, making it important for your own health, as well as your baby’s.
